Söùc chòu taûi cho pheùp cuûa coïc ñôn thaúng ñöùng thöôøng ñöôïc xaùc ñònh baèng söùc chòu taûi giôùi haïn hoaëc taûi troïng phaù hoïai chia cho heä soá an toøan. Thoâng thöôøng heä soá an toøan Fs = 2, tuy nhieân vieäc aùp duïng heä soá an toøan cao hôn hoaëc thaáp hôn tuøy thuoäc vaøo möùc ñoä quan troïng cuûa coâng trình, ñieàu kieän ñaát neàn, ñaëc ñieåm coïc vaø phöông phaùp thí nghieäm.
